ΚΟΠΗ ΒΑΣΙΛΟΠΙΤΑΣ
Επιστρέφοντας, από τις καλοκαιρινές διακοπές υποδεχτήκαμε τη νέα χρονιά με τους καθηγητές του Ιδρύματος, κόβοντας την καθιερωμένη βασιλόπιτα στις 2 Φεβρουαρίου. Το τυχερό φλουρί της πίτας μας έτυχε στον Καπετάνιο!

NEW YEAR’S PIE CUTTING
On February 2^nd, amidst a warm gathering of our esteemed teachers, we joyously commenced the festivities of the new year by cutting the traditional New Year’s cake. We were happy that our Founder, Captain P.N. Tsakos, won the lucky coin which we consider a sign for good luck and prosperity for our Foundation. With laughter and camaraderie, filling the air, we embraced a spirit of anticipation for our activities in the year ahead.

ΝΕΕΣ ΚΑΘΗΓΗΤΡΙΕΣ
Τον Φεβρουάριο καλωσορίσαμε δύο νέες καθηγήτριες. Την καθηγήτρια φιλοσοφίας, κα Dafne Gnazzo, που διαδέχτηκε τη συνταξιούχο πλέον καθ. Delia Maxera, όπως και την αποσπασμένη από το Υπουργείο Παιδείας δασκάλα ελληνικής γλώσσας, κα Ακριβή Καλδίρη. Διοργανώσαμε μικρή δεξίωση υποδεχόμενοι την κα Dafne και την αγαπητή κα Ακριβή.

NEW PROFESSORS
February marked the arrival of two esteemed additions to our faculty. Mrs. Dafne Gnazzo, our new philosophy teacher, gracefully stepped into the role previously held by the retiring Prof. Delia Maxera, bringing with her a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm. Additionally, we warmly welcomed Mrs. Akrivi Kaldiri, our new teacher seconded by the Greek Ministry of Education. On March 15^th we held a small welcome asado (barbeque) for our new teachers.

ΚΑΛΟΚΑΙΡΙΝΕΣ ΔΡΑΣΤΗΡΙΟΤΗΤΕΣ
Κατά τη διάρκεια του Φεβρουαρίου διοργανώθηκαν καλοκαιρινές δραστηριότητες ποικίλου γλωσσικού και πολιτιστικού περιεχομένου, καλώντας όλο το κοινό να συμμετάσχει. Το Ίδρυμα μας πλημμύρισε από  εργαστήρια  γαστρονομικών παραδόσεων, λαϊκών τραγουδιών και χορών, φωνολογίας, κινηματογραφικές προβολές, παιχνίδια στα ελληνικά και μαθήματα ενίσχυσης ελληνικής γλώσσας .

SUMMER ACTIVITIES
Throughout the month of February, our premises buzzed with the vibrant energy of summer activities, offering a rich tapestry of linguistic and cultural experiences open to all. From engaging workshops in phonology, to spirited sessions of Greek dances and exploration of gastronomic traditions, there was something for everyone to savor and enjoy. Participants immersed themselves in Greek culture and music.

ΗΜΕΡΑ ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΗΣ ΓΛΩΣΣΑΣ
Για την Παγκόσμια Ημέρα Ελληνικής Γλώσσας στις 9 Φεβρουαρίου, οργανώσαμε παιχνίδια στην αυλή για τους μαθητές μας και τους επισκέπτες. Με την παρουσία τους μας τίμησαν η πρέσβειρα της Ελλάδας κα Ναυσικά Νάνσυ Βράιλα και ο πρόξενος κος Μιχαήλ Μανουσάκης.

INTERNATIONAL GREEK LANGUAGE DAY
We celebrated International Greek Language Day on February 9^th, playing linguistic games in the yard to the enjoyment of our students and visitors. We were honored with the presence of H.E. the Ambassador of Greece, Mrs. Nafsika Nancy Vraila, and the Consul Mr. Michael Manousakis.

ΕΚΔΗΛΩΣΕΙΣ
Με αφορμή την Ημέρα της Γυναίκας, και με πρωτοβουλία της Αντιπροσωπείας της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης στην Ουρουγουάη, την 6^η Μαρτίου διοργανώθηκε εκδήλωση με θέμα : «Ο ρόλος της τέχνης και του πολιτισμού στην προώθηση της ισότητας των φύλων». Μεταξύ των καλλιτεχνικών δρωμένων που παρουσιάσαμε τα ινστιτούτα-μέλη της EUNICMontevideo (European Union National Institutes for Culture), οι μαθήτριες του Ιδρύματος ενθουσίασαν το κοινό με ελληνικούς χορούς.  Την επόμενη ημέρα, οι μαθητές του θεατρικού εργαστηρίου παρουσίασαν με μεγάλη επιτυχία στην αυλή μας το κωμικό σκετς «Ένα απόγευμα με τον Αίσωπο». Επίσης, στις 22 Μαρτίου, η κα Katia Marina εκφώνησε μια ενδιαφέρουσα ομιλία  με θέμα: «Ομοιότητες και διαφορές μεταξύ της Ελληνικής και Ουρουγουανικής Επανάστασης».

EVENTS
In honour of Women’s Day, the Delegation of the European Union in Uruguay organised on 6^th March the event «What role do Art and Culture play in Gender Equality?». Among the artistic performances presented by the member institutes of EUNIC Montevideo (National Institutes of Culture of the European Union), our students presented Greek traditional dances to the audience. The following day, our theatric workshop students presented the comedysketch «An Afternoon with Aesop» in our courtyard with great success. For those interested in history, on 22^nd March we hosted Mrs. Katia Marina who delivered an interesting speech on “Similarities and differences between the Greek and Uruguayan Revolutions”.

ΑΓΙΑΣΜΟΣ
Την 8^η  Μαρτίου 2024, ο πατήρ Ιωάννης Κριάρης ευλόγησε την έναρξη της νέας διδακτικής χρονιάς. Στον αγιασμό, που έλαβε χώρα στην αυλή του Ιδρύματος, είχαμε την τιμή να υποδεχτούμε μεταξύ άλλων την Α.Ε. πρέσβειρα της Ελλάδας, κα Ναυσικά Νάνσυ Βράιλα. Την 11^η  Μαρτίου ξεκίνησαν τα πολυάριθμα μαθήματά μας, ενώ στο πρόγραμμα σπουδών προστέθηκε φέτος το εργαστήρι Ρεμπέτικου που προσφέρουμε σε κιθαρίστες.

COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY
On 8^th March, Father Yannis Criaris bestowed his blessings upon the commencement of the new school year. Gathered in the serene courtyard of our premises, the consecration was graced by the presence of our teachers and staff and by H.E. the Ambassador of Greece, Mrs. Nafsika-Nancy Vraila. Our journey into the new academic year began on 11^th March, with the addition of the “Rebetiko” workshop, enriching our curriculum with soulful melodies and rhythms.
