ΣΥΜΜΕΤΟΧΗ ΣΕ ΕΚΔΗΛΩΣΕΙΣ / EVENT PARTICIPATION

Την 3^η  Οκτωβρίου, στα πλαίσια σύμβασης με το πανεπιστήμιο Universidad Católica del Uruguay (UCU), η διευθύντρια μας, κα Soraya Ochoviet, και 4 ακόμη καθηγητές συμμετείχαν με διαλέξεις και δραστηριότητες στην «Εβδομάδα UCU», με θετική ανταπόκριση των φοιτητών. Για τον εορτασμό της 28^ης  Οκτωβρίου στο Δημοτικό Σχολείο  «Grecia» η καθ. Διονυσία Κυριακοπούλου δίδαξε στους μαθητές ελληνικούς χορούς και παιδικά τραγούδια. Οι τελευταίες μέρες του Νοεμβρίου βρήκαν τη Διευθύντρια του Ιδρύματος να συμμετέχει στο συνέδριο της Ελληνικής Πολιτιστικής Οργάνωσης «Νόστος» στο Μπουένος Άιρες, όπου παρουσίασε τους σκοπούς και το έργο του Ιδρύματος.  Η  παρουσία της εμπλουτίστηκε και από ομιλία με θέμα: «Οι ονομασίες των Ελλήνων ανά τους αιώνες».
On 3^rd October, in the framework of our cooperation with the Catholic University of Uruguay (UCU), our director Mrs. Soraya Ochoviet and four of our professors participated in «UCU Week«, with lectures and activities that received a positive response from students. On occasion of the Greek commemoration day of 28^th October, Prof. Dionysia Kyriakopoulou visited “Grecia Primary School” and taught the young students some Greek dances and children’s songs. Moreover, from 27^th to 29^th November, Mrs. Soraya Ochoviet participated in the conference of the Greek Cultural Organization «Nostos» in Buenos Aires, presenting the history and goals of our Foundation and gave a speech on the names of Greeks through the centuries.

ΗΜΕΡΑ ΠΟΛΙΤΙΣΤΙΚΗΣ ΚΛΗΡΟΝΟΜΙΑΣ / CULTURAL HERITAGE DAY

Μεγάλη επιτυχία γνώρισε και φέτος η Ημέρα Πολιτιστικής Κληρονομιάς. Οι πολυάριθμοι επισκέπτες περιηγήθηκαν στους χώρους μας, επισκέφτηκαν την έκθεση παραδοσιακών ενδυμασιών και παρακολούθησαν την επίδειξη ελληνικών χορών.  Η εκδήλωση πλαισιώθηκε από την ομιλία «Η αρχιτεκτονική δομή των εκπαιδευτικών κέντρων στην Αρχαία Ελλάδα» της αρχιτέκτονος Patricia Llobet, ενώ οι συμμετέχοντες απόλαυσαν και τα ελληνικά γλυκά του σεφ μας, κου Matías Porteiro. Η βραδιά έκλεισε με ρεμπέτικο ρεπερτόριο της χορωδίας.
Heritage Day 2023 took place on 7^th October and was a great success. Numerous visitors toured the building, visited the exhibition of traditional costumes, watched the demonstration of Greek dances, attended the lecture, «The architectural structure of educational centres in Ancient Greece» by the architect Patricia Llobet and tasted the Greek delicacies prepared by our chef, Mr. Matías Porteiro. The evening ended with enthusiastic applause in the crowded main hall, honouring the ‘rebetiko’ repertoire of the Choir and the musicians accompanying it.

ΕΠΙΣΚΕΨΗ WISTA / WISTA VISIT

Κατά τη διάρκεια του διεθνούς συνεδρίου της WISTA (Women’s International Shipping and Trading Association), που φέτος έλαβε χώρα στο Μοντεβιδέο, το Ίδρυμά μας παρέθεσε δεξίωση καλοσωρίσματος προς τιμήν της Προέδρου, κας Έλπης Πετράκη, και της προέδρου του παραρτήματος Ουρουγουάης, κας Alessandra Bugge. Στην αντιπροσωπεία συμμετείχε και η κα Θεανώ Καλαποθαράκου, εκδότρια του περιοδικού ELNAVI, που πήρε συνέντευξη από τη Διευθύντρια κα Soraya Ochoviet, την Επίτιμη Πρόεδρο κα Margarita Larriera και την Πρόεδρο της URUMEPA, κα Pilar Lacalle.
 On the occasion of the WISTA (Women’s International Shipping and Trading Association) International Conference that took place in Montevideo in October, we organized a reception in honor of the President of WISTA International, Mrs. Elpi Petraki, and the President of WISTA Uruguay, Mrs. Alessandra Bugge. We also welcomed Mrs. Theano Kalapotharakou, editor of ELNAVI magazine, who interviewed our Director Mrs. Soraya Ochoviet, our Honorary President Mrs. Margarita Larriera and the President of URUMEPA, Mrs. Pilar Lacalle.

ΕΚΔΗΛΩΣΕΙΣ / IN-HOUSE EVENTS

Μεταξύ 26^ης  και 30^ης  Οκτωβρίου, είχαμε τη χαρά και την τιμή να έχουμε κοντά μας τη στιχουργό, συγγραφέα και μεταφράστρια κα Αγαθή Δημητρούκα, κληρονόμο του ποιητή Νίκου Γκάτσου, στα πλαίσια της περιοδείας της στη Nότια Αμερική. Η κα Δημητρούκα αναφέρθηκε στο έργο και την ζωή του μεγάλου στιχουργού, η δε ομιλία της «Η μεγάλη παρέα του Νίκου Γκάτσου: Ένας πολιτισμός με τον ήλιο σύνορο» είχε μεγάλο ενδιαφέρον. 
Ακολούθησε εργαστήρι στιχουργικής που απευθυνόταν στους προχωρημένους μαθητές μας. Προς τιμήν της, η χορωδία μας ερμήνευσε τραγούδια του Ν. Γκάτσου.
Between 26^th and 30^th October, we had the pleasure and honour to host the lyricist, writer and translator Mrs. Agathi Dimitrouka, beneficiary of intellectual property of the great Greek poet, Nikos Gatsos, as a part of her tour of South America. Mrs. Dimitrouka gave a speech entitled «The great company of Nikos Gatsos: A Culture with the Sun as a limit border» and conducted poetry workshops for our advanced Greek language students, who participated actively enhancing their creativity. Our choir performed songs written by the great poet N. Gatsos in her honour.

ΑΦΙΕΡΩΜΑΤΑ / TRIBUTES

Το Ίδρυμά μας διοργάνωσε αφιέρωμα στη Μαρία Κάλλας με αφορμή τη συμπλήρωση 100 χρόνων από τη γέννησή της. Η έκθεση φωτογραφιών της μεγάλης καλλιτέχνιδος, η προβολή ντοκιμαντέρ για τη ζωή και το έργο της και η ενδιαφέρουσα ομιλία «Κάλλας: Η γυναίκα πίσω από τον μύθο» της κας Lucía Pérez, στέφθηκαν με μεγάλη επιτυχία. Επιπρόσθετα, στην επετειακή συγκυρία 100 ετών και από τη γέννηση της συγγραφέως  Άλκης Ζέη, το Ίδρυμα σε συνεργασία με την Ελληνική Κοινότητα την τίμησαν με την εξαγγελία συγγραφικού διαγωνισμού, όπου συμμετείχαν μαθητές δημοτικών σχολείων. Τα σχετικά βραβεία επιδόθηκαν σε τελετή που έλαβε χώρα την 10^η Δεκεμβρίου στην Ελληνική Κοινότητα.

In December, the Foundation organised a tribute to Maria Callas on the occasion of the 100^th anniversary of her birth. Our students and friends enjoyed a photo exhibition of the legendary diva, a documentary on her life and work, as well as an interesting lecture entitled «Callas: The woman behind the legend» by Mrs. Lucía Pérez. Additionally, as 2023 coincides with the 100^th anniversary of the birth of the great Greek writer, Alki Zei, our Foundation, in collaboration with the Hellenic Community of Uruguay, announced a writing competition. Students from public primary schools participated and the winners received their awards at the Hellenic Community on the 10^th December.

ΛΗΞΗ ΣΧΟΛΙΚΗΣ ΧΡΟΝΙΑΣ / CLOSING CEREMONY

Η σχετική εορτή έλαβε χώρα τη 19^η  Δεκεμβρίου, στον αύλειο χώρο του Ιδρύματος, όπου και εκτέθηκαν τα έργα του καλλιτεχνικού μας εργαστηρίου. Μετά την απονομή βραβείων στους αρίστους,   ακολούθησε η  παρουσίαση του  νέου σκετς του θεατρικού μας εργαστηρίου. Η καλλιτεχνική νότα δεν έλειψε, καθώς η βραδιά έκλεισε, ως είθισται,  με  τη  χορωδία και τις μελωδίες του μπουζουκιού και του μπαγλαμά, ανανεώνοντας το ραντεβού για τη νέα χρονιά.

Our year-end celebration took place in the garden of our Foundation on 19^th December, where students and guests had the opportunity to admire the exhibition of artworks from our workshop. Those present were also able to enjoy Greek traditional dances and the new theatrical sketch performed by our theatrical group. Our appointment for the new year was renewed with the sounds of ‘bouzouki’ and ‘baglama’, with our choir performing well-known Greek songs.
